Volunteer & Student Placements

Give your time, grow your skills, and make a real difference

Volunteering at NACYS is a meaningful way to contribute to the wellbeing of young people, families, and communities in Adelaide’s northern suburbs. Our volunteers are valued members of our team, bringing energy, diverse perspectives, and vital support to the programs we deliver.

As a NACYS volunteer, you will make a direct impact on the lives of children, young people, and families experiencing vulnerability. You will gain practical experience in community services, social work, counselling, or early childhood education, and receive training and support from experienced professionals.

We regularly welcome volunteers across a range of programs and activities, including the Children’s Garden program, community events, administrative support, and mentoring.

All volunteers receive a comprehensive induction, ongoing supervision, and access to relevant training. A current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and a National Police Clearance are required before commencing.

NACYS also partners with universities and training providers to offer supervised student placements in social work, psychology, early childhood education, and community development. Placements are arranged in collaboration with your educational institution and tailored to meet your learning objectives.

If you are interested in volunteering or a student placement at NACYS, please contact us or submit an expression of interest.
